OUR MISSION
The Bryn Mawr College Asian Students Association (ASA) is a space for Asian and Asian American students and the general Bryn Mawr College community:

To explore and embrace their multiplicity of cultures and identities, especially those of Asians and Asian Americans,

To promote cultural, social, and political awareness of Asian and Asian American perspectives in an inclusive and engaging environment,

To foster outside connections by inviting Asian American professionals to campus.

KAREN GUO
Co-President
She/her | ‘22 | Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Karen is a first-generation, low-income college student from Brooklyn, NY. She joined ASA with the goal of creating a space that can have serious discussions and have fun at the same time! Karen is also currently on the planning committee for the Tri-college Asian Students Conference. Her hobbies include cooking, sleeping, and taking the bus just to be in Lutnick Library, her current architectural love.
RACHEL LEE

She/her | ‘22 | Computer Science and Neuroscience
Rachel is a second generation Asian American from Boston, MA. She is somewhat culturally confused, but her family is from China, Malaysia, and Vietnam. In addition to this role, Rachel is also a Posse scholar, Student Activities and Orientation Assistant, and Library Circulation assistant. When not stressing out about a computer science assignment, Rachel enjoys cooking with friends, binging love island, and trying to figure out how to take the septa to Philly.


JACLYN LO

She/her | ‘22 | Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
Jaclyn is a third-generation Asian American Canadian who has lived in New Jersey, Canada (Toronto!), and Singapore. In addition to ASA, she is a Head Peer Mentor and General Chemistry TA and is involved in various committees and clubs on campus including Adopt-A-Grandparent Volunteer Club, Health Center Advisory Board, and Mei Chinese Dance Club. She loves rhythmic gymnastics, drinking tea, and eating good food.
WENDY QU

Wendy Qu is a first generation Chinese-American who comes from Manhasset, NY. She is a prospective Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Major. On campus, aside from ASA, she is also a part of MEI, the traditional Chinese dance club. She loves doing all sorts of art crafts (drawing, painting, embroidering, etc), napping, hanging out with friends, and GOOD FOOD! If she had to choose one meal for the rest of her life, it would be hot pot.


SOPHIA JIN-MALATESTA

Hello friends across the AZN diaspora! Sophia is second generation Korean-Japanese-Italian from Kennett Square, PA who is aspiring to become art therapist. They have anxiety and spend a lot of time thinking about the well-being of the world and how they can help themself, their peers, and those unlike them feel loved and enough and fulfilled. As ASA’s publicity chair, their goal is to make pretty graphics and marketing that help to spread the word about ASA's unique and beautiful initiatives. They also like putting up information regarding black and indigenous solidarity, justice & equity in its many forms, decolonization, and admirable Asian Pacific (typically creatives) on the ASA instagram stories. In their free time of quarantine and beyond, they love watching movies with their mom, being a practitioner of reiki, reading or making things, and writing letters to their penpals.
ANGIE YANG

She/her | ‘22 | Computer Science
Angie is a first-generation Chinese American from the Greater Boston Area where she lives with her older sister, parents, and her small white fluffy dog, Tobey. On campus apart from ASA, Angie works as a TA and Peer Tutor for Computer Science. In her free time, she likes listening to music, dancing, taking naps, and munching on everything but tree nuts and peanuts. One fun fact about Angie is that she is missing a tooth on her bottom row of teeth but there is no gap.


BOHYUN JEONG

She/her | ‘22 | Geology, Visual Studies
Bohyun is a first-generation low income college student from Metro-Atlanta, GA. She majors in Geology at Bryn Mawr and minors in Visual Studies at Haverford. On top of maintaining the website for ASA, she also works as a Supervisor at the Erdman Dining Hall and as a Student Coordinator for the Career & Civic Engagement Center. Bohyun identifies as a queer Korean-American, and her hobbies include telling people that she’s going to draw and then proceeding to not draw, taking photos of her friends when they're having fun, and being emotionally aware of and to both herself and the people around her. DANA YANG

Dana is a first-generation Chinese American from Queens, New York. She is a Chemistry major and a submatriculant of University of Pennsylvania’s Master of Computer Information and Technology. Apart from ASA, Dana works as an Organic Chemistry Lab TA, Lead Student Coordinator for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and Peer tutor for Chemistry and Computer Science on campus. In her free time, she likes to paint, bake, sleep in and go on adventures.
